ORTHOPTIC SERVICE

Medirex is proud to offer a unique childrens eye care service

FREE Specialist assessment

FREE Specialist consultation

Once a month, we hold a FREE specialist service with Nabil Uddin, an Orthoptist who diagnoses and treats children’s vision development issues and squints.

If you have concerns regarding your child’s vision, ability to read and coordination of their eyes, we can help. Does your child spend too much time in front of a screen or phone? Is there a family history of eye problems? We can assess your child, give you peace of mind and provide early treatment if necessary, preventing unnecessary referral to the hospital in some cases.

Children will rarely complain if they have a sight problem and early detection prevents avoidable sight loss!

Nabil is also happy to advise on a variety of conditions and treatments, working closely with Medirex’s Opticians to deliver the best care for your child.

We can assist you with the following:

– Lazy eye (amblyopia)

– Squint/turn of the eyes (strabismus)

– Eye movement problems

– Double vision/overlapping images

– Unstable/wobbly eyes

– Reading/Tracking issues

– Frequent closing of one eye

– Unusual head turn

– Eye strain

– Concentration issues

– Eyes looking different to each other (colour, size, shape)

– Difficulties with compliance to eye treatment
